At Green Park School we have class reps and deputy class reps who are democratically elected by their classmates. The children write and deliver a persuasive speech to explain why they would be the best candidate and then a vote is held. Our children are excellent orators and would give parliament a run for its money!
Class reps meet with the head teacher every half term and contribute to the school development plan. At times they meet with the chair of governors to also share their views and thoughts on the school. They are fantastic leaders and learn a lot from this role about themselves and about democracy as a whole.
Other leadership roles at the school include sports reps, play leaders, peer tutors and school leaders. All of these roles help children develop their skills and confidence as well as being excellent ambassadors for Green Park School.
